In the decades subsequent to the unification of the Kingdom of Italy, achieved in 1861 with the proclamation of Vittorio Emanuele II as the king of the new State, the Italian peninsula became covered with many commemorative monuments. These were devoted, first of all, to honour the men who played a leading role in the heroic deeds of the Risorgimento but also to remember the places where the major historical events occurred. El objetivo del presente artículo es el análisis de las relaciones entre bovinos y humanos bajo la perspectiva de la agencia animal a través de varios objetos artísticos encontrados en el asentamiento de Polizzello (Sicilia occidental), datados entre los ss. VIII-VI a. C. Concretamente, presentamos un conjunto de jarras cerámicas decoradas con bucráneos, así como también representaciones de bovinos y seres híbridos en distintos soportes cerámicos como son vasos de almacenamiento, de consumo y servicio de alimentos. Minding the dream self: Perspectives from the analysis of self-experience in dreams

AbstractCan ancient art of memory (AAOM) principles explain the function of dreaming? The analysis of self-experience in dreams suggests that the answer is no: The phenomenal dream self lacks certain dimensions that are crucial for the efficacy of AAOM in wakefulness. However, the comparison between dreams and AAOM may be fruitful by suggesting new perspectives for the study of lucid dreaming as well an altered perspective on the efficacy of AAOM itself.
